Summary: The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking quality food in the restaurant following AAC Guidelines. Primary Responsibilities: • Work as directed to support the mission and values of Atlanta Athletic Club • Meet with the Sous Chef to review assignments, anticipate business levels, changes and other information pertinent to the job performance • Check production schedule and par to establish priority items for the day • Prepare menu items following recipes and yield guides according to departmental standards and needs for the day • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment and tools only as intended, properly and safely • Maintain and strictly abide by state sanitation/health regulations and club requirements • Inspect the cleanliness and working conditions of all tools, equipment and supplies • Sets-up, maintains and breaks down station. • Notifies Sous in advance of all expected shortages. • Ensures that work station and equipment are clean and sanitary. • Adheres to state and local health and food safety regulations. • Makes recommendations for maintenance, repair of equipment Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach. • Push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds.
• Work in hot, humid and noisy environment. • Ability to stand on your feet for several hours • Demonstrates adequate cooking skills • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers • Must have a flexible schedule with the ability to work nights’ week-ends and holidays • Ability to maintain a professional attitude while working in a fast-paced environment
