It is important that you use language and phrases that are familiar to you and reflective of your personality and terminology. But it is also important that you understand which phrases are suitable for which scenarios, and how to best communicate with a guest using pleasant, friendly and professional language.
BEST PRACTICES: The following are various phrases that are useful and recommended based on different scenarios and different points in the guest experience. Some may be more or less appropriate based on the guest, location, clientele, formality of the dining experience and your comfort level using them, so you should be aware of all of the options, and able to use the “acceptable” and “best” phrases interchangeably when needed.
