Rules and Regulations

ATLANTA ATHLETIC CLUB RULES & REGULATIONS – AMENDED SEPTEMBER 2023

a. Running from the back to the front of the board. Divers may begin running where the railing ends.

b. No tricks or competitive dives are permitted unless a certified dive coach is present. Aquatic staff may prohibit any activities deemed unsafe from the diving board.

c. Sitting, kneeling or lying down on the diving boards.

d. Handstands or other non-competitive movements.

53. Use extreme caution while ascending the three-meter ladder.

54. Only one bounce on each board is allowed. Double bouncing is prohibited.

55. Diving out to the side or horizontally is not permitted. Dive straight out in front. Dive in the deepest part of the diving well.

56. Non-swimmers requiring the use of a flotation device or parental assistance may not use the diving boards.

57. The starting blocks at the end of each lane are reserved for swim team and swim lessons only.

RULES GOVERNING THE WATER SLIDES:

58 . Only one person is permitted down the water slide at a time.

59. Swimmers are to go down the slide feet first in a sitting position.

60. Headfirst and/or face down slide usage is prohibited.

61. Waterslides may not be used unless a lifeguard is actively guarding the slide area.

62. Floatation devices are not permitted on the water slides.

63 . Non swimmers are not allowed to use the water slide. A non-swimmer is defined as someone who is unable to swim without assistance or without use of a floatation device from the end of the water slide to the proper exit.

64. Swimmers are not allowed to swim in the slide pool well. Once down the slide, swimmers are to exit by use of the closest staircase.

65. Swimmers must wait for lifeguard signal before going down the slide.

66. Parents are not allowed to go down the slide with children.

67. Parents are prohibited from catching children coming down the slide.

68. Only person in swim suit attire are permitted to use the water slide. No street wear or athletic wear may be worn down the slide.
