Rookie Rackets- For those tennis players who have taken an extended break from tennis and want to knock the rust off their rackets. This is a great review on stroke production and serving basics again or can be a refresher on getting back into the swing of things! It is a 6-week session. Start and end dates can be subject to change so please text Wendy Fox at As you toss the ball up, use your arm as a guide to point to the ball before you make contact to hit the serve. Pointing helps achieve several things: 1. It keeps your head up which allows you to keep your eye on the ball longer before point of contact. 2. It maintains a better balance with your stance. 3. It gives more control of your toss to create a straighter toss. PICKLEBALL Congratulations to Kitchen Kings for winning the 2023 Pickleball summer league championship. Thank you to Captains Cherise Mlott and Shannon Collins for your hard work and leading your team. 770 710-6836 or e mail at wmf@aac1.org to register. Tennis Tip- “The Serve” by Wendy Fox

ALTA DEADLINE COMING UP! Would you like to be on an AAC ALTA team? Do you want to move to a different AAC team? • The AAC deadline to move from your current team to another is Friday, December 8, 2023. • This date is close to six (6) weeks before the actual ALTA deadline. Here are the simple steps we would like you to follow. • Communicate with ladies’ league coordinator Carmen Garcia-Jersild at CMG@aac1.org to let her know you are planning to move to a different AAC team. Discuss your options. Carmen will work with you on finding you a team you can join at your appropriate level. • Let your current captain know that you will be leaving the team. Please remember to thank them for their hard work and for having you be part of their team. You may not be able to leave a team if that team is in jeopardy of folding. Your captain also needs to make sure her team is whole with enough players to compete in their division for the next season.
