Board Book 2023

We attempted to have three stationary beverage stations on the golf courses. We heard from many members they would prefer this setup over roving carts. However, after trying it we received more negative comments than positive and the sales dropped as well. We are working to have two roving carts and one station at the restroom on the back nine as soon as we can get the one cart repaired. One area that the F&B Department continues to struggle with is attracting candidates in the Culinary Department. Over the past 45 days Chef DaRin has set up 32 candidates to interview, only 4 have actually showed up for the interview and he hired 3 of the 4 candidates. We are hoping when the next semester begins at Gwinnett Technical College that we will be able to hire some interns from their culinary program. We are looking to hire one more manager to assist with operating the dining rooms, Corners Outreach is assisting us with this search. Audra and Kyle are taking a more active role in overseeing the Troon Grill. D’Andreir Coakley, who assists with our member special events and at the Front Desk, was recognized as one of our Team Members of the Quarter. Jimmy Cole and Lukus Harvey and their team members did a great job completing the new landscape and hardscape work at the Tennis Center. Lukus also has completed the outdoor lighting project with the contractor and both projects have made a positive impact to our grounds. Golf and Grounds: The drainage project on Highlands was completed by keeping the Landscapes Unlimited on property for the week prior to and during the Masters. They worked on the final phase during Masters week by installing drainage at the north short game range. Lukus would like to install some drainage in a few small areas in the rough in July when the course is closed. He will do this with his team members and it will grow in quickly as it is in the Bermuda grass and the weather will be more conducive to growing grass. Bud Taylor and his team continue to do a great job handling the increase in play on our courses and at the practice facilities. The Sargent Member/Member was a huge success! Bud, Lukus, and their teams did a wonderful job executing the tournament. Our guests play has been very strong in March and continuing into April. Bud, Wiley, and their team members did an excellent job taking care of all the guests who came during the Masters Tournament. Athletics: The Fitness Center continues to have one of their busiest years in some time. Neil and Jonathan Lee are focused on hiring for the Aquatics Center. Neil hired an assistant to help Jonathan with the pool operation. His name is Collin Krull-McAteer.
