Rules and Regulations

ATLANTA ATHLETIC CLUB RULES & REGULATIONS – AMENDED SEPTEMBER 2023

B. If a player plays 13 or more holes in an 18-hole round (or seven or more holes in a nine hole round), a score shall be recorded by adding par for any unplayed holes, plus any handicap strokes to which the player is entitled.

A. Scores in both match and stroke play including those made in multi-ball competition.

53. The Golf Committee will periodically monitor the posting of scores. Golfers will be given a grace period in which to post scores. Golfers found to have not posted a score for a day when they have played will have an appropriate penalty (P) score, determined by the Golf Committee. Penalty scores can only be appealed by writing to the Golf Committee.

54. The golf shop will post all tournament scores, which allows the USGA handicap system to identify exceptional tournament scores and reduce handicaps appropriately for up to a year.

55 . The Golf Committee will monitor tournament winners and players who win in spite of penalty scores and tournament scores. If the Committee determines the legitimacy of a players’ handicap as compared to his/her play is questionable, an arbitrary handicap may be established for a period of time. In accordance with USGA Handicapping Policy, the Golf Committee has the right to establish an appropriate handicap for the player in question, and to establish the length of time this handicap will be in effect for tournament play.

56. Handicaps will be updated according to the schedule set by the Golf Committee and the GSGA.

GOLF COURSE CARE GUIDELINES

• No member vehicles are allowed on our golf courses.

• Members and guests must use good judgment before hitting into areas where golf course maintenance employees are working.

• Members are prohibited from retrieving golf balls from lakes on the courses including Mondays, except when retrieving their own balls during the normal course of play.

• The teeing ground is between the markers and two club-lengths behind them. Members are prohibited from teeing up outside this area. The golf course maintenance staff moves the markers daily in order to spread the wear over all tee areas. • Rake bunkers after playing your shot. Place the rake outside the bunker within easy reach from the edge. Walk in and out of the low side of the bunker where possible. Do not walk through a bunker except to play a shot out of it or to rake out marks.

• Repair ball marks properly. Pull grass in from the sides and level. Do not pull up the soil in the center of the ball mark.

• Replace all divots with the turf whenever possible. Sand bottles and scoops are provided for use when the divots are beyond replacement.

• A fine of at least $100.00 will be levied against anyone damaging any part of the golf courses. Fines exceeding $100.00 may be levied at the discretion of the Board of Directors, depending on the extent of the damage.
