Tennis Updates From Director of Tennis, Jeff Chandley

Welcome Dominic Arbie to the Professional Staff Many of you may have already met our newest professional, Dominic Arbie. Dominic comes to us from the Concourse Club where he was the junior director. Dominic will be using his communica- tion skills along with his teaching skills in helping us continue to build our junior tennis program. Welcome Dominic to the club. If you have a junior that is interested in tennis, let Dominic work his magic on the courts. Upcoming Events LTA Member/Guest AUGUST 19 AND 20 This is by far our most popular event. Every year we have more members wanting to participate than slots available. We have two days reserved for this event so we will be able to accommodate various number

of participants. There has been communication from members on the best way to host this event. Keeping it as a 2 day event or determining how to accommodate all in a 1 day event. Since this is for you, our members, we wanted your input. We sent a survey (deadline July 5) to all LTA members for feedback. The questions: 1) Keep as a two day event and players never sit out (accommodates 64 players each day, no wait list; 2) A one day event with players sitting out one round (accommodates 94 players, 34 on wait list); or 3) one day event, each player sits out one round (accommodates 128 players, no wait list and more social time) Once the member votes have been tallied, we will share with you the results. We strongly suggest you register for the event as quickly as you can. Registration will open July 15 online at 8 a.m. Only online reservations will be allowed! Cost is $225 per team.

‘Woodies and Whites’ Mixer SATURDAY, JULY 3 Check in: 9 a.m. Play begins at 9:30 a.m. $25 per Person All Levels Welcomed / Partner Not Required Let freedom ring on AAC’s tennis courts as we step back in time. Come dressed in white gear to play with wooden racquets in a fun mixer. We’ll be serving plenty of snacks, refreshments and in honor of the Wimbledon tournament, strawberries and cream.
