t e n n i s DEADLINE COMING UP! Would you like to move teams within the AAC? Do you know that there is a tennis etiquette to follow in order to switch team? Our internal deadline to move teams within the AAC is Friday, December 9, 2022. This date is close to six (6) weeks before the ALTA deadline which had not been published by the time November/December club times edition went to print. This type of planning is necessary to keep our teams with healthy numbers and for captains to know if they have a full roster for the Spring 2023 season or if they need to recruit more players for the next season. Spring 2023 Captains should not accept new players for their team unless it has been communicated between all parties involved (this includes my knowledge, the previous captain and new captain). Etiquette to switch teams within AAC Teams: • Communicate with ladies’ league coordinator Carmen Garcia- Jersild if you plan to move teams to discuss options. • First and foremost, you must let your current captain know that you will be leaving the team. Thank them for their hard work and for having you be part of their team. You will only be allowed to change teams if the original team is not in jeopardy of folding. • I will try my best to find you a team at the appropriate level. • The main reason to communicate to your current Captain is to make sure that the team is whole with enough players to be competitive in their division. After this date, be sure to let me know if you will be attending Men’s night by 12 noon on Wednesday, the day before, because we will be limited to 16 spots once we have moved inside. DOUBLES STRATEGY SESSION: Are you looking to practice just doubles strategy and court positioning? Ask 2 or 3 of your tennis friends and pick a time and day that is convenient for you and plan a tennis session. This type of class is great if you usually play with the same partner and want to make your partnership stronger and the best it can be. I will work with you for an hour or hour and a 1 half to define your strengths and weakness. Improve your game and communication on the court which is vital to maximize your wins. These tennis camps have been very popular year after year. We love using our indoor courts to keep our members playing even when there is a league break, and the weather is not good. We will do stroke production, cardio tennis games, play live ball games focusing on doubles plays and even the number work do match play at the end of every camp. These camps are a blast and will fill up very quickly so please make sure you reserve your spot asap! We look forward to seeing you on the courts!
