Board Book 2023

We are one of six clubs in the U.S. that has it and it reads green speed, smoothness, trueness and firmness. It will help us determine the best agronomic practices for our greens. We also collect

our grass clippings from the greens and have a daily clipping yield. This year we have had 26 inches of rain and May has had 1.94 inches of rain so far.

Lukus then reviewed the Grounds Committee goals for this year. We will work with Tripp Davis to develop long and short term plans for all golf facilities with a focus on the Par 3 and Highlands. We will also work with Tripp to develop a Design Intent Book for Riverside that will tie into our GCM standards. We will continue to reinforce a culture of stewardship through member participation events like the divot filling party and club communications. It is our goal to have Riverside recognized as one of the top 2023 “Transformations” by Golf Digest. We will have a heightened level of detail and maintenance to the golf courses following the GCM standards. Q&A Feedback/Old/New Business: There was a question about hole handicaps for Riverside. This is for the golf committee and more data is needed. Hole handicaps are determined by the AAC and GSGA. The GCM standards have been well received. David Sheppard added that all departments have standards and KPIs. We also use NPS scores and ask members to fill out the survey when they receive one. Lukus added that we have GPS for all of our sprayers and the Par 3 is mowed autonomously at night. We were a test site for the John Deere Fairway autonomous mower and will be getting 3 of the first 20 mowers later this year.

With no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:39 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

For the Grounds Committee Margaret Almand, Executive Assistant
