Board Book 2023

General Manager Report – David Sheppard We are still struggling with culinary staffing . We’re planning to team up with a culinary program that is here in town to help us recruit line chefs. Mr. Tony Kelley, the Club’s CFO (Chief Financial Officer) is retiring after 23 years of service. We hired Matt Simmons as new CFO and he will be joining us June 5 and will be working alongside Mr. Kelly who will retire in late August. We also hired Joel Meyers for our CHRO (Chief Human Resources Officer) position. The Vision Committee is moving forward, and we will have a better understanding of their plans in the fall. Director of Tennis Report – Jeff Chandley Mr. Chandley welcomed all participants. He then explained that prior to each meeting, he sends a meeting invitation which includes a copy of previous committee minutes as well as the agenda for the upcoming meeting. He sends this information in advance, so you can reply with confirmation that you will be attending and in case you want to add anything to the agenda. Jeff explained how the standards and audits of the courts system/program we had in place has not been very effective. The input of our members is important for us, so that we can fix/repair anything you see or find. Unfortunately, not everyone follows through, so we want to do something different. We have decided to add beer and wine and make it a standard and audits party. An email was sent today with the standard and audits party schedule. He emailed the Tennis Committee Members the Tennis Informational Committee booklet prior to tonight’s meeting . The booklet is a great source of reference, it holds important information such as goals, meeting dates, contacts, etc. Our upcoming annual Memorial Day Davis Cup Challenge is set up for registration on the C lub’s calendar, currently only four members have registered, so Jeff will be sending out a reminder. On the booklet you will find the list of goals we have in place for this term.  The Junior Tennis Fund: A sub-committee will be appointed to watch all the financial decisions and donations. We have already scheduled a Jai-Alai event on Labor Day with all the proceeds of that event going to the Junior Fund.  Stewardship: We just discussed how the Standards and Audits will be revamped.  Friday Night Tennis Mixers: We have not had much luck with our Friday/Saturday night mixers. Jeff would like to build it up and promote it.  Vision Committee: He will continue to work with the Vision Committee for the masterplan.  Pickleball: The Pickleball posts and nets will be installed in June. Lastly, Jeff is interested in hosting a major Pickleball event.
