Board Report – Chair Kevin Case Mr. Kevin Case opened the meeting by welcoming the new committee members and followed with their introductions. Then he began the B oard’s report with golf and grounds. The Highland’s course drainage project is complete. The Riverside course is being repaired with new grass. The Divot Filling party was successful. The Sargent Member/Member was also very successful. The Athletic, Spa and Timbers Departments are staying busy as always. The pool opens May 19. Membership is still going strong, there are 78 prospective members on the internal waitlist and 100 on the external waitlist, for golf. Mr. Moore, Vice-Chair, continued with events held last month, the Easter buffet, Wine dinner and Sea Food Spectacular were a big hit and many members and guests attended. Unfortunately, the inclement weather didn’t allow for the kids Easter Egg Hunt, however, the bunny did attend, and the event continued in the 1898 House. The Sunset Soiree event at East Lake was amazing, the weather and accommodations were perfect. Mr. Bruce Barfield kicked things off by speaking about our heritage and the connection between East Lake and our club. Approximately 170 members attended. He communicated that Audra Lucas, Kyle Hillhouse and our Executive Chef, Eric DaRin are working on strategies to ease the busiest time of 6:30 – 8 p.m. in the Troon kitchen. On the golf side, we attempted some changes with the stationary bev carts that were not well received, so we are going to modify the program. Food and Beverage continues to struggle with hiring. Devlin Wilkie-Page is now Troon manager. He thanked Jimmy Cole and Lukus Harvey for the entrance renovation at the Tennis Center. Mrs. Tori Whipple shared the popularity of the Bridge program. She thanked Audra and Oakley for a job well done when they were moved to the Merion Room. The Bridge ladies ’ feedback has been amazing.
