The Club Times: July/August 2024

eighteen-hole women’s golf We are officially in “full-swing” of the 2024 AACWGA season! The last few months have given us fabulous weather, some incredible golf, and even more importantly - Fun Fellowship amongst our Members!

HOLE-IN-ONE! Mary Waymire made an amazing hole-in-one on Riverside #6 (113 yards, 7i) during her President’s Cup Match in April! RECENT EVENTS AAC – SUGARLOAF MATCH

A big “hurrah” to the winners of our first AAC and TPC Sugarloaf Match! The champions were Glenda Strong and Nanhe Ro, and Sugarloaf members Julie Jackson and Inseong Choi. Thank you to Mary Waymire for coordinating this event and for AAC to play at Sugarloaf in September! APRIL COUPLES GOLF Theresa and Brad Stewart and Janine and Cannon Berrong took 1st place gross in April Couples Golf. Also, congratulations to Debbie and Jay Boling and Sheri and Ken Smith, who won 1st place net.

TEAM PLAY We rounded out the month of May with a 2-day match play tournament highlighting our 70 years of Fun and Friendships on the golf course with an "I Love Lucy" themed tournament between the Lucky Lucys and the Eagle Eyed Ethels. Despite an extremely tight competition, the Lucky Lucys reigned supreme! A special "thank you" to Evelyn Vance and her committee for putting on such a fun filled event and to Mary Ramsey for hosting the team "Reveal Party" at her home. DUTCH TREAT The ladies hosted guests for the Dutch Treat Tournament in the beginning of May. Faye Machen and her committee created a beautiful event to showcase AAC to our guests, and even had perfect spring day weather! Theresa Stewart and her guests pulled out the win in the net competition. Yutta McCants, Judy Bardis and their guests dominated the gross competition.
