opponents “attackable” zone. This keeps you in trouble for the most part. You will lose 60 to 90 percent of these points. You need to change your shot selection when your contact point is knee height and lower. This zone is called the “un-attackable zone”. When your contact point is in the “un-attackable zone”, you need to send the ball to your opponent into their “un-attackable” zone. In order to do this, you need to hit the ball with a lot less speed. Your goal is to have the ball land near your opponent’s feet. Learning when and how to hit softer shots will be a game changer! Pickleball Tip Win More with Softer Shots QUESTION: What is the biggest thing you can adjust to your pickleball game? ANSWER: When your point of contact to hit the ball is low, you should hit slow! Let’s suppose you have played a lot of games of pickleball. Your style of play is hitting most of the balls hard and fast. You are having fun! However, you feel like you should be winning more often. Hitting hard and fast is normally a good option when your contact point is waist height or higher. These are what we call “attackable” shots. The problem I see happening a lot, is that people are hitting the ball hard and fast when the contact point is knee height and lower.
