Welcome From The General Manager David Sheppard, CCM
Welcome to Atlanta Athletic Club, your new home away from home. As you and your family begin utilizing the Club, you will be making lifelong memories and we at AAC are honored to be part of your journey. In the following pages you see much of what your new home has to offer. The one component that is difficult to convey is how your life will be forever changed when you forge new friendships and experience new ways in which you and your family will enjoy yourselves. Membership at AAC comes with great opportunities and rewards, however, it also comes with obligations which are shared by all members whether brand new or have decades of tenure. I like to call them the Four Obligations of Membership. Your first obligation is to yourself and your family to enjoy yourselves and immerse yourselves in the many offerings the Club provides. Make new friends, try a new sport or activity and try some new food or drink options. Second, we are a Club where everyone is of the same standing and all members and their guests are obligated to know and observe the rules and bylaws in place. This allows all members to know the standards they will encounter once they drive through the gates. Our Club is one of the most historic in the country, if not the world. Our history and traditions are unrivaled and we believe our members should embrace the history of our club and share it with family and friends. Our Bobby Jones Museum is just one aspect of the club history which is displayed prominently and with pride in every room in our club. Our Club History Book will be our gift to you to start you on your journey. The final obligation is one that is also a great privilege. Now that you have been accepted for membership, you can help to perpetuate the Club by sponsoring new members. Everyone who has become a part of AAC since 1898 has been invited to join by other members of the Club. Now, we ask that you look for others who will be a great fit to our outstanding Club and speak with them about joining. It may just change their lives. Congratulations on your choice to join one of the most vibrant and innovative clubs in the country. We pledge to you our very best every day and will deliver on the promises of our mission statement: We embrace our rich history and legacy of championship golf in a warm environment where families make memories and members make life-long friends.
