Ladies Bridge Association What an exciting year it has been in the Bridge room!
Over the past year we have had 22 new players of all ages join the game after a 6-week beginners bridge class offered at the Club. To support the beginners, a dedicated team of experienced bridge players, organized by Mare Mills, have been voluntarily mentoring the newbies every Tuesday at 2:30. This is a great format to practice and advance the skills of the new players. It is an amazing opportunity to better learn the game in a casual atmosphere with helpful guidance! Some of the newbies have even advanced to play in Social bridge with the veterans at the club. This is an informal playdate biweekly on Wednesdays. Fun and prizes led by Beachie Hall. Marathon bridge, led by Melissa Dickens, an organized monthly format with a set partner has also increased in participation from 16 partners to 20 pairs. Marathon runs from August through March. Another great competitive venue to increase your skill and get to know others. Cynthia Tanner organizes
Duplicate bridge and Karen Smith is responsible for Couples bridge. Duplicate is played bi-weekly, and couples enjoy an evening of bridge followed by dinner monthly. There are so many opportunities to enjoy the fun and fellowship. If you are an experienced player or brand new to the game, consider becoming a member of the Ladies Bridge Association. We are currently exploring lessons for the Fall at various levels. Please contact Tory Whipple at torywhip@comcast.net to learn more and join our growing group of amazing bridge Club members. Paint Club Fall Session Begins Sept 7th –Oct 26th Wednesdays in the Aquatics Center 9:30am-11:30am
