Ladies Bridge Association

November 17th will be our next meeting and the book is, The Magnificent Lives of Marjorie Post by Allison Pataki. As always, we will meet in the Ladies Locker Room at Book Club Upcoming Reads The Personal Librarian by Marie Benedict. The date is January 19th, 4:00 p.m. Ladies ’Locker Room. What an exciting year it has been in the Bridge room! Over the past year we have had 22 new players of all ages join the game. The bridge group has been very active. All ages are playing and competing, it is a game of strategizing and socializing. If you’ve thought about playing now is the time! Marathon matches began in August and 20 teams of 2 are competing. Each month is a battle with fun and fellowship. The competition continues through April.

Couples bridge is played once a month on Fridays, followed by a social dinner. Great fun and some interesting “coaching” between husband and wives. The social team is busy planning our annual Holiday celebration scheduled for December 16th. A day of bridge play, prizes, and holiday cheer! All members of the LBA are welcome to join the festivities.

The beginners group celebrated their mentors, Mare Mills and Tory Whipple with a fun surprise celebration. The group has enjoyed gathering every Tuesday afternoon to learn and improve bridge play. This is open to all beginner players, Tuesday’s at 2:30, and a fantastic way to get guidance and enjoy lots of laughs. There are typically 12+ women in attendance. If you are interested in joining the Ladies Bridge Association, and learning the game please reach out Tory Whipple torywhip@comcast.net. Tory is organizing ongoing lessons based on interest and levels. Wednesday afternoons the bridge room is almost at capacity, rotating Social bridge and Duplicate bridge weekly.
