nine-hole women’s golf
Opening Day The 2025 WGA 9-Hole Opening Day was a stunning success, with a beautiful sunny day setting the tone for a fantastic vintage-themed event. We revisited the past with our on-course contests, featuring a closest-to-the-pin challenge on the putting green using a historic Calamity Jane putter and a longest drive competition utilizing classic persimmon drivers. Sandra Campbell emerged victorious in the putting contest by skillfully sinking a challenging downhill putt. Katherine Malone secured the longest drive on hole one, while Debbie Patterson claimed the longest drive on hole eighteen. There was intense, fun competition on the nine's for the team scramble. Coming in second place on the front nine at a Net 26 (-9), the team of Susan Moon, Kathy Halligan, Mary Aguilar, & Judy Elder. The winning team of the front nine at a Net 25 (-10), was Sam Rhodes, Gail Laney, Carmen Leach, & Melissa Clary. The team of Amanda Tyler, Rebecca Butler, Kelly Hanley, & Nita Scartz came in second place for the back nine with a Net 27 (-9). The back nine winners were Kimberly Murray, Debbie Patterson, Patty Hoffman, & Cheryl Johnson at a Net 25 (-11). A big “Thank you” to our amazing Opening Day Committee, Ada Clough, Kathy Weisberg, Amanda Tyler and Elizabeth Dickens who delivered a great kickoff to our 2025 season!
