Finding Fellowship Overseas Ambassador Members and Overseas Members An important part of AAC’s tradition and heritage are the many Ambassador Members we have from overseas clubs. Some of the ambassador members we have come from clubs like Formby, Gullane, Royal Troon, Royal Dornoch, New South Wales, The Royal & Ancient, and Royal Liverpool. In turn, many of our AAC members are overseas members of those clubs such as Formby, Royal & Ancient, Royal Lytham and St. Annes, Royal Dornoch, Royal Troon, and Royal Liverpool. As a club, we are fortunate to be invited to many of those overseas clubs’ anniversary celebrations and international golf tournaments. This summer we sent delegates to participate in the 150th anniversary of Royal Montreal and in 2019, the 150th anniversary of Royal Liverpool Golf Club. We also enjoy being invited to participate in the Atlantic Trophy, a bi-annual international competition organized by Royal Liverpool Golf Club and

we have recently created the Yates Cup, another bi-annual international competition between members of AAC and the Royal Troon Golf Club. Most recently, members from the Royal Liverpool Golf Club were hosted here in October by some of our members who are overseas members at RLGC. Mr. Ciaran Walsh, the current Captain of Royal Liverpool marked the occasion with a painting of their beautiful 17th hole, Little Eye, by renowned golf artist Steve Lotus. The signed and numbered painting now hangs in the Hoylake Room. The relationships we have with so many ambassador members enrich the lives of the AAC members in America while also strengthening the bonds between their home clubs overseas and AAC. We hear time and time again that the shared fellowship is one of camaraderie, friendship, and a lot of laughter.
