hard to ensure every event is memorable. I hope everyone has had the opportunity to meet and welcome our new Restaurant Director, Anthony Appie, who comes to us from the Ritz Carlton. November has several special events scheduled to kick off the season! Our “Going Coastal” dinner is scheduled for November 7, combining the former seafood spectacular and oyster roast! On November 12, we are hosting a very special wine dinner featuring Hundred Acre wines, truly rare and highly sought-after wines from Sonoma and Napa. No doubt Chef DaRin will have an amazing dinner scripted to accompany these beautiful wines. To get you in the mood to entertain this holiday, a Holiday Mixology Class is scheduled for November 21, leading up to our Thanksgiving Day Buffet on November 27. The low net team with a score of 54 included: Jim Teate, El Henry, Robert Sands and Don Uischner. The second place gross team with a score 65 included: Mark Benefield, Joe Harrell, Bruce Simmons and Don Palmieri. Ryan and Grant made a joint presentation to the Duffers on Thursday August 21, 2025. We learned the GSGA was founded in 1916 and that AAC was one of the 16 founding clubs. Bobby Jones at the age 14 won the inaugural Georgia Amateur. The GSGA currently has a full time staff of 22 and 250 volunteers who are focused upon achieving its Mission Statement which is: “We serve and advance the game of golf by providing opportunities for everyone to play, through promoting its best interests and in celebrating its storied history.” The GSGA benefits its community of 100,000 members and 350 member clubs by maintaining the handicap index, golf genius tournament software, course measuring and rating, education seminars, advocacy of turf grass research, foundation scholarships, etc. GSGA hosts over 30 competitions, has a program to make golf more affordable for junior golfers, and manages the Georgia Golf Hall of Fame and Induction Ceremony each year at AAC. The Duffers really enjoyed the presentation and were appreciative of a sleeve of golf balls with the red, white and blue Play, Grow Lead motto.

Gary Laney won the longest drive on #18. Welcome New Duffer CHRIS AGUILAR

The High School Invitational is considered one of the most elite High School Tournaments in the Southeast, with over 125 fine young boys and girls participating annually. As part of this great tournament, the AAC Jr. Golf Fund provides two $2,500 scholarships, one to a boy and one to a girl that compete in the event. The AAC Jr. Golf Fund also provides some incredible outreach opportunities to help grow the game of golf. In 2025, the AAC Junior Golf Fund donated $15,000 to Adaptive Golf with the GSGA, and was a major supporter of the U.S. Girls Junior in July! Other collaborations with organizations such as Georgia Youth on Course, and Georgia Junior Golf Foundation are also made possible by the AAC Junior Golf Fund! RAFFLE This year we will be selling $100 raffle tickets, and the winner will win a custom set of Titleist Golf Clubs from Driver through Scotty Cameron Putter plus a golf bag.
