AT L ANTA ATH L E T I C C LUB
We embrace our rich history and legacy of championship golf in a warm environment where families make memories and members make life-long friends.
T H E C L U B
Atlanta Athletic Club (“AAC”) was founded in 1898 with facilities in the heart of downtown that offered its members a gymnasium, lounge, locker rooms and showers. By 1901, the membership had quickly grown to 700. In 1908 the Club completed its first 18-hole golf course at East Lake, which was then redesigned in 1915 by Donald Ross (this course later became East Lake Golf Club). AAC has a long and rich history in golf and sports, including its second Athletic Director John Heisman, 3-time champion of the U.S. Women’s Amatuer, Alexa Stirling, distinguished amateur Charlie Yates and its most accomplished golfing member, Bobby Jones. In 1976, the Club dedicated The Jones Room to celebrate and display many of Bobby Jones trophies and memorabilia. Between 1965 - 1970, the Club sold its
downtown facilities and purchased a tract of land in Duluth, an area that was later renamed Johns Creek. The Club hired Robert Trent Jones to design the new 36 hole layout, with 27 holes opening in 1967 and the final 9 holes opening in 1970. Over the years there have been several renovations including the addition of a Par 3 course. Today, AAC is a vibrant hub of social and athletic activity for families and individuals. The Club is consistently rated in the top 5 athletic clubs in the country.
Limitless Amenities Our two Championship 18-hole golf courses, nine-hole Par 3 course, 42,000 sq. ft. fitness center, spa, a combination of outdoor hard and har-tru clay courts, indoor tennis facility, Pickleball, Olympic-sized pool, our spacious club rooms and dining areas offer members, their families and guests a memorable athletic, recreational and social experience. Family Activities Atlanta Athletic Club constantly works to encourage a culture of pride, appreciation and camaraderie among our AAC team and our members. The Club remains family centric by providing the best athletic professionals for our emerging sports enthusiasts, and constantly offering entertainment for all ages, year round. There are also a multitude of opportunities for parents to leave their children with our trusted Youth Activities team to enjoy our more intimate Club events.
AChampionship History Our charter as a private club dates back to 1898 when a group of young businessmen were looking for a place to enjoy indoor and outdoor athletics with their associates and friends. The original downtown club was located on Edgewood Avenue. The Club added a golf course and clubhouse at East Lake in 1915 and moved to the present Johns Creek location in the late 1960s. The great golfer, Bobby Jones, grew up playing golf at the Atlanta Athletic Club’s East Lake Country Club. Bobby Jones became the world’s most famous amateur golfer and his career culminated with the Grand Slam of Golf in 1930. He served as President of the Club and was an active member until his death in 1971.

Admissions Process Overview
On behalf of the Membership Committee and Board of Directors, we sincerely thank you for your interest in inviting a candidate to begin the admissions process at Atlanta Athletic Club, Inc. (the “AAC” or “Club”). New Members are vital to the future of our Club. As the Primary Sponsor you play a critical role in the admissions process, you must know the candidate well enough to be able to attest to their character, and you are responsible for ensuring they have an extensive knowledge of our heritage, traditions and values. It is imperative that they understand what it means to be a good steward of the Club and are familiar with our rules and bylaws. The Primary Sponsor is responsible for investing the time and effort to ensure that the membership steps are completed in a timely manner and that both Co-Sponsors adequately know and feel comfortable with the candidate in order to write quality letters of recommendation
Steps of the Admissions Process
INVITATION :
Primary Sponsor contacts AAC Membership Director, Erica Smith by email esmith@aac1.org or by calling 770-368-7702. The Primary Sponsor must confirm that the candidate will be sponsored by three members in total (one Primary Sponsor and two Co-Sponsors). All sponsors must know the candidate well enough to vouch for their character and believe the candidate would be a good fit for our Club. All Sponsors must be members for a minimum of one (1) year before being eligible to sponsor a candidate. Of the three (3) Sponsors, one must be a member for a minimum of five (5) years. The Primary Sponsor will be given an outline of the letter requirements for each sponsor. The Membership Director will email the membership packet to the Primary Sponsor to share with the candidate. Once the candidate has reviewed the information, they may contact the Membership Director directly to set a required tour of the facilities and to understand the membership process. After the tour, if the candidate decides to continue the membership process, they may visit the AAC Website with provided guest login information to review the Club’s Rules and Bylaws and have an understanding of the privileges of members, spouses, and dependents for all areas of the Club. If an External Waitlist for membership exists, the candidate must complete the Initiation Fee Lock-In Form. The form along with the appropriate non-refundable deposit and all three sponsorship letters, must be returned to the Membership Director in order for the candidate’s name to be added to the External Waitlist. Once all paperwork and monies are received, the candidate will begin the waiting period. Please note the timing of both the External and Jones Golf Waitlists given are estimates and can change based on member attrition.
EVALUATION
During the waiting period, it is the Primary Sponsors responsibility to continue to engage the candidate and host them for activities at the Club. The candidate will be invited to AAC sponsored mixers. The Membership Director will notify the waitlisted candidate, and the Primary Sponsor, as soon as a membership position becomes available and the process can continue. At that time, the candidate will be given the Application for Membership to complete and return along with a non-refundable application fee of $1,000 . Action will not be taken on any application for membership until all necessary documents are provided to the Membership Director. Once the background checks and the credit checks are completed, the Membership Director initiates the candidates posting in the clubhouse as well as on the AAC website for a period of no less than 30 days. The Membership Director arranges a candidate interview event which is to include the candidate, spouse (if applicable), and one member each from the Board of Directors and the Membership Committee. This event can take different forms, depending upon the situation. Representatives from the Membership Committee will contact the three sponsors to ensure they have a strong relationship with the candidate and that all the information they have provided is accurate. Upon the expiration of 30 days from the date of posting and the receipt of all relevant application documentation, the Membership Committee reviews the file during the next scheduled monthly meeting. The Membership Committee determines whether to approve or disapprove the candidate and conveys their recommended action to the Board of Directors. The Primary Sponsor is notified of the Board’s decision by the Membership Director. The Membership Director will then reach out to the new member with next steps or inform the candidate of their denial. The new member and their spouse (if applicable), will be scheduled to meet for a mandatory orientation with the General Manager and Senior Leadership Team in order to activate their membership. An Ambassador will be assigned to contact the new member but it is still the responsibility of the sponsors to assist with welcoming and integrating the new member into the Club. The new member and spouse (if applicable) will be invited to attend an upcoming New Member Reception along with the Primary Sponsor and spouse. This is an important event for the new member to meet members of the Board of Directors, Membership Committee and other new members. Attendance is required and should a new member miss the first event they must attend the second reception or membership privileges may be affected.

External Waitlist Guidelines If an External Waitlist exists for the requested membership category, the Board of Directors requires candidates to make a non-refundable deposit (the “Lock-In Deposit”) equal to 20% of the prospective member’s applicable aggregate total initiation fee for the requested membership category using the prospective member’s age as of the time of the making of the Lock-In Deposit. By making the Lock-In Deposit, the candidate will not be subject to any future increases in the initiation fee that may be imposed by the Board of Directors after the date the candidate is officially placed on the External Waitlist as provided below. If an External Waitlist is in effect for the requested membership category, the candidate’s name will only be placed on such waitlist upon (i) the receipt by the AAC of the completed sponsorship materials from each of the three membership sponsors, (ii) the execution and delivery by the candidate to the AAC of the Initiation Fee Lock-In Deposit Form set forth below and (iii) payment in full by the candidate of the Lock-In Deposit. Once placed on the External Waitlist, the candidate will be advised on expectations regarding the length of the waitlist and other obligations of the prospective member. The candidate shall not be placed on the External Waitlist until all three actions described above have been satisfied. The Membership Director will notify each prospective member on the waitlist, and their primary sponsor, as soon as space is available to proceed with an AAC membership and the membership process can then begin. Please note the timing of both the External Waitlist and for golfing privileges are only estimates and may change depending upon the pace of membership attrition. Once approved for membership, the Lock-In Deposit will be applied to the first installment(s) of the aggregate initiation fee that is due. Those who wish to have golfing privileges will first be placed in the Heisman classification until a Jones classification providing for full golfing privileges becomes available. In order to be placed on the AAC External Waitlist, you must, among other items, submit your payment of the Lock-In Deposit via check or ACH transfer, payable to the Atlanta Athletic Club, Inc. ALL PROSPECTIVE MEMBERS MUST COUNTERSIGN AND RETURN THE INITIATION FEE LOCK IN FORM TO THE CLUB , AND PAY THE APPLICABLE LOCK-IN DEPOSIT, AS CONDITIONS TO JOINING THE EXTERNAL WAITLIST. PLACEMENT ON THE EXTERNAL WAITLIST DOES NOT CONSITUTE ACCEPTANCE OF YOUR CANDIDACY FOR MEMBERSHIP. I N I T IAT I ON F E E LOCK - I N FORM By executing of this form, you acknowledge that you have reviewed and understand, and that you agree to, (i) the summary of membership information you have been provided including, but not limited to, the Admissions Process and External Waitlist Guidelines (including the payment of the required non-refundable Lock-In Deposit), all as set forth above and that are hereby incorporated herein, (ii) the categories of membership along with the accompanying privileges for that category, golfing privileges waitlist information, monthly dues obligations, all capital dues and capital assessment obligations and (iii) all membership rules, guidelines and policies (including all member disciplinary procedures, including those set forth in Section 8.9 of the AAC By Laws, as amended from time to time) and that you acknowledge that all such dues, assessments, rules, guidelines and policies are subject to change at any time without notice.
You further acknowledge and agree that (i) neither the submission of this Initiation Fee Lock-In Deposit Form, nor the payment of the Lock-In Deposit, shall constitute an invitation to join, or acceptance of your candidacy for, membership into the Club and (ii) the Club requires that all prospective members, including those who have paid the Lock-In Deposit, remain subject to, and the completion of, the Club’s full membership application process. Prospective members, including those who have paid a Lock-In Deposit, shall have no rights of membership in, or access to, the Club unless and until the membership application process is completed, including the granting of approval for membership by the Board of Directors. You further acknowledge and agree that the Lock-In Deposit is not refundable for any reason whatsoever, including the rejection of your candidacy for membership in the Club. However, in the event that either the Membership Committee of the AAC and/or its Board of Directors ultimately does not approve your candidacy for membership, the Board of Directors may, in its sole discretion, refund to you all or a portion of the Lock-In Deposit. Please complete the information below and execute this Lock-In Deposit Form to acknowledge your understanding of, and agreement to, the above Admissions Process and the External Waiting List including the Lock-In Deposit and your intention to pay the Lock-In Deposit substantially concurrently with the execution and delivery of this Lock-In Deposit Form.

Jones Golf Waitlist AAC currently has a waitlist for Jones golf memberships. Once a membership position is available and the Candidate has been invited to join the Club (approved for membership by the Board of Directors), they will be placed on the golf waitlist as a Jones-in-Waiting member. The Jones-in-Waiting member would then have access to the Club as a Heisman social member and pay social dues, until a golf spot becomes available. Jones Waitlist Details: • The Jones initiation fee installments must be paid and Heisman social dues will be billed until they are off the waitlist. • Those who are on the waitlist can play as a guest of a golf member up to twelve (12) times a year and are required to pay half of the accompanied golf guest fee for 18 holes (no additional discount for 9 holes). While on the waitlist, they may not play on Saturday mornings before 12pm. • May not play in any tournaments or competitive events as a Heisman member, but may play as a guest in member-guest events. • Jones-in-Waiting members pay the Jones monthly fee of $45 for the Driving Range/Par 3. • Any timing given of the length of the waitlist is an estimate and can change based on membership attrition. • If a member invited from the waitlist declines the Jones membership, they will be placed at the bottom of the Jones waitlist.
