Honoring Club History

HONORING LOCAL ATHELETES “A MEMBER’S PARADISE WITH CHAMPIONSHIP CREDENTIALS” The names David Toms, Betsy King, Jerry Pate, and Nelly Korda only begin to cover the long list of golf ’s greatest athletes who have played the courses of Atlanta Athletic Club. The history of each tournament decorates the halls of the Clubhouse, allowing for members and visitors alike to take in the long athletic history residing within state of Georgia since 1898. Appreciation INTERACT WITH CLUB HISTORY Throughout the Clubhouse, members and guests can step into the past by scanning one of the thirty-six QR codes that direct participants to a short audio clip that shares the history behind various memorabilia collected thoughout the years. Such treasures include trophies, artwork, clothing, and photographs. A map of the code locations can be found on the club’s history page for those who cannot visit in person. Additionally, “Atlanta Athletic Club. A History” is a brief audio history available to all via podcast. New members also receive a hard cover copy of the history book “Atlanta Athletic Club: A Host to History” at their welcome reception.

Atlanta Athletic Club remains committed to

supporting atheletes within both the Atlanta and Club communities. As of 2022,

the Club has bestowed its local athleticism award to 49 men and women and has inducted 41 members into the Club Hall of Fame for various athletic accomplishments, from football championships to Olympic gold medals. Celebration

Top Level Golf Courses Our two championship golf courses, Highlands and Riverside, offer a firm, but fair test for golfers of all ages and skill levels. Multiple sets of tee markers allow golfers to choose the length of course that they wish to play. The newly renovated Riverside Course will be re-opened in Fall of 2022. Our 9-hole Par 3 Course is a great environment for the junior golfer or for someone who may want to work on their short game. Junior golfers are nurtured and challenged to learn the game, the rules and etiquette as our staff goes about the “business of inspiring tomorrow’s champions every day.”

DINING WITH ATMOSPHERE The clubhouse of Atlanta Athletic Club offers dining areas that vary in atmosphere and intimacy, each hosting their own menu that’s been crafted by an experienced culinary team. Royal Troon Grill Casual dining at it’s finest. The menu was built with families in mind, offering assorted dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The room also supports buffet options for special occaisions and weekend brunch. Interlachen Lounge A space where members 21 and older can relax with a seasonal cocktail or a wine from our impressive list of vinyards while they enjoy a limited casual menu. The Merion Room

The intimate, warmly lit dining room provides members with a quiet atmosphere to enjoy a gourmet meal from an ever-changing menu of haute cuisine. Men’s Grill

Built above the men’s locker room, the men of Atlanta Athletic Club can enjoy a cigar on the balcony and order a drink and food from the Royal Troon Grill at the private bar.

Tennis COURTS The Tennis Center offers you four climate-controlled indoor tennis courts, six Har-tru clay courts and seven hard courts outside under the lights. What was once a Stadium court has recently been converted Tennis Socials include Mixers, Ladies’ and Men’s Nights and yearly Member/Member and Member/ Guest events to look forward to throughout the year. ALTA and USTA leagues give our members an opportunity to challenge their tennis skills in various leagues. HISTORY Our Stadium Court has hosted many Club and national tennis events including the Atlanta Tennis Challenge featuring Andre Agassi and Pete Sampras as well as the Men’s 40 National Clay Court Championships. to meet our members’ passion for pickleball. Fitness & Wellness FITNESS The Fitness Center at the AAC is unique to most country clubs across the U.S. Our 40,000 square foot facility allows us to provide a fitness atmosphere on par with large commercial fitness centers. Staff organize cardio, strength training, and group exercise classes, as well as men’s basketball, racquetball, squash leagues, and Pilates. Members can also use the whirlpool, steam room and sauna in each of the locker rooms. In the summer, the Aquatics Center offers an Olympic sized pool, the highest high dive in the area, and a children’s splash pad and water slides. SPA Our expert estheticians, massage therapists, nail techs and stylists offer a wide range of services designed to help members look and feel their best.
