Alexa Stirling

In Canada, Alexa Stirling Fraser has been inducted into the Ottawa Sports Hall of Fame (1967), Canadian (1986), Ontario (2013), and Ottawa Valley (2021) Golf Association Halls of Fame.

This past summer our club was pleased to host the Ottawa Valley Golf Association’s inaugural Hall of Fame inductions in our Alexa Stirling Fraser Lounge with her family there to receive the honour. As her grandson, Douglas Carwardine, said while accepting her award, “Of all her skills, golf defines her legacy. This modest woman was a true champion. She won with dignity, lost with grace and is a deserving candidate.” These words also hold true for her nomination to the World Golf Hall of Fame. Alexa Stirling Fraser was a remarkable golfer, competitor, sportswoman, musician, carpenter, bond trader, wife, mother, and grandmother. Her golfing legacy and her impact on her contemporaries and future generations of golfers are outstanding.

We fully endorse the nomination for her induction into the World Golf Hall of Fame.

Thank you for your consideration. Yours truly,

Kris Bulmer, President The Royal Ottawa Golf Club Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
